DEPUTY DIRECTOR

Dr. Ram Parkash Sharma, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, H.P. University, joined Academic Staff College as a Deputy Director in addition to his duties in Department of Mathematics on June 2, 2009. Dr. Sharma is a Gold Medalist in MA/M.Sc. (Mathematics) of H.P. University 1981-1983 batch. He did his M.Phil. and Ph.D. from Ramanujan Institute for Advanced study in Maths., University of Madras. He joined Department of Mathematics, H.P. University in September, 1992 as a Lecturer. He is having 19 years teaching and research experience. Under his guidance 12 M.Phil. and 6 Ph.D. students have completed their degrees. He has published 30 research papers in reputed national and international journals. He has been awarded the following fellowships and awards:

1. Awarded Merit Fellowship (H.P University, Shimla) for M.A/MSc. IInd Year, 1982-1983.
2. Gold Medal (First Class First) of M.A/MSc. Maths. H.P University (1981-83).
3. U.G.C. (JRF) from 19-10-1984 to 18-10-1989 at Ramanujan Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (University of Madras).
4. Visiting Fellowship from Punjab University, Chandigarh (25-06-1990 to 31-08-1991).
5. Post Doctoral Fellowship from NVHM (DAE).
6. SERC Visiting Fellowship from D.S.T (Govt. of India) from 4 January 2000 to 24 February 2000.
7. Commonwealth Fellowship (Commonwealth Scholarships Commission in the United Kingdom) to do research at University of Glasgow from 1-10-2001 to 30-9-2002.
