HPU-ASC organized a 3-day meeting of the Directors of All India Academic Staff Colleges in April 1995. The meeting was addressed by Prof. Armaity Desai, Chairperson, University Grants Commission. In her address she called on the Directors to work together towards a change in the system of education in the country, which is one of the largest in the world. Prof. Desai showed keen interest in the working of ASCs and held them to be the nerve centres of systematically developed its own hardware and software for teacher development in higher education.
