I feel extremely happy while sending my best wishes for the updation and upgradation of ascshimla.org, the website of UGC-Academic Staff College, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. Since its inception, our Academic Staff College has been performing exceptionally well as one of the premier institutions of this kind in India because of its distinct national character, work culture, dynamic approach and innovative teaching techniques. UGC– Academic Staff College was established in 1989 as part of UGC’s attempt to re-orient the training of teachers engaged in higher education. I am happy to share with you that the College has earned a name for itself in the country and till date more than 300 programmes have been organized.

The Academic Staff College is enriched with a splendid array of infrastructural facilities, including latest modern electronic gadgets, well furnished conference rooms, state-of-art computer labs, INFLIBNET and EDUSAT network connectivity. The construction of a hostel for trainees is in progress. I appreciate the efforts of Prof. Kulwant Singh Pathania, Director, Academic Staff College and his team for imparting quality training in the College and hope that the informations placed on the website will cater for the needs of the aspirants, who are keen to attend the programmes at the Academic Staff College, Shimla.
